The decision to purchase Long Term Care Insurance, "LTC", is not only financially prudent, it is an act of love towards your family. An LTC policy not only protects the assets of your surviving spouse, allowing continuity of living standards, but it also offers HELP; help in taking care of a recuperating or convalescing loved one, that otherwise, could become overburden some for the caretaker or caretakers.
As you know, MediCARE does NOT cover Long Term Care, and in order for MediCAID to provide any assistance, you must exhaust your wealth to the level of "financial indigence", furthermore, a willing Medicaid provider of Long Term Care services, may not be within your community, requiring relocation away from your loved ones.
CONSEQUENTLY, if you have assets to protect, you need Long Term Care Insurance. LTC comes in a plethora of sizes, shapes, and premium levels from a number of insurance companies. In my opinion there are inadequate policies and under funded insurance companies that would reduce the likelihood of realistic and adequate protection in the future should a claim be presented.
The most important decision you can make is the insurance professional with which you seek counsel and future service from. I am thoroughly versed in the LTC market. I represent all of the prominent LTC providers which are highly rated by AM Best and hold substantial financial and claim payment ability. I am a local, property owning, resident of Naples for many years and WILL be here in the future to assist you and your family at times of need.
